Chicago Cubs outfielder Junior Lake wears wrong road jersey against Pirates

Last night, the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates played a 16-inning marathon that finished around midnight central time.WrongUni

The late night must have confused Cubs’ outfielder Junior Lake into thinking the team was wearing their standard road jerseys, instead of their new road alternates, during today’s day game.

Oops. The photo on the right shows Lake’s mistake.

The differing uniforms that Lake (left) and first baseman Anthony Rizzo (right) are wearing do make the complete team name when side-by-side, however. That might be the most successful teamwork the Cubs put together this afternoon.

Expect the team to make a boatload of uniform mistakes this year, as they are planning on wearing 10 or so different throwbacks in celebration of Wrigley Field’s 100th season.
